ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR HND PROGRAMMES
A. GCE ‘A’ LEVEL APPLICANTS
i. Four (4) GCE ‘O’ Level passes including English Language and Mathematics. AND
ii. A minimum of two (2) GCE ‘A’ Level passes in relevant subjects. A pass in General Paper will be an advantage.
B. SSSCE/WASSCE APPLICANTS
Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (SSSCE)/ West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE).
Passes in three (3) Core subjects including English Language, Mathematics, and Core/Integrated Science / Social Studies (for Business Students) and three (3) relevant elective subjects, with an aggregate score of 24 for SSSCE or 36 for WASSCE or better.
C. OTHER CERTIFICATE AND DIPLOMA APPLICANTS
i. Technician Certificate/Advance Certificate of G.E.S/City and Guilds Cert. II OR
ii. DBS Accounting /Secretarial /Marketing/Purchasing & Supply / Management /Statistics Option. OR
iii. Advanced Business Certificate Examinations. OR
iv. A certificate from a recognised higher institution. OR
vii. A diploma from a recognised higher institution. OR
vi. Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana) Level I. OR
vi. A degree.
D. TEACHER APPLICANTS
i. Four-year Certificate ‘A’. OR
ii. Three-year Post Secondary Teacher’s Certificate. AND
iii. Four (4) GCE ‘O’ LEVEL PASSES or four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes including English Language and Mathematics. AND
iv. At least a minimum of three (3) years teaching experience.
E. MATURE APPLICANTS
i. Must be at least 25 years old.
ii. Must have four (4) GCE ‘O’ LEVEL / SSSCE / WASSCE PASSES including English Language and
Mathematics.
iii. Must have at least three (3) years working experience.
iv. Must pass a written aptitude test (English Language, Mathematics, and General Knowledge).

4. PRE-HND PROGRAMMES
The Pre-HND programme is an access course introduced by NABPTEX for technical and vocational school graduates to gain entry into the HND programmes of Polytechnics in Ghana. To qualify for selection into the HND programme a student must have passed all three (3) subjects namely Mathematics, English and Science with a minimum score of 50% in each subject.

Duration – one (1) Academic year (i.e. two (2) semesters of 16 weeks per semester)

Applicants should possess a minimum qualification of Craft/Intermediate or Advance Certificate or MET I, MVT I,
CTC I, EET I, 812/1.
